Enano del castillo. Schlosszwerg. Castle Gnome

In Stefan Roloff’s installation, "Schlosszwerg," his virtual monument on the Berlin Schlossplatz, becomes a taddle-tale (informer), spreading, the circumstances of a case of property damage and other illegitimate actions on Facebook.
Otto Bufonto’s name first appeared on a clean bench at the Oskar-Helene-Heim subway station in 1972. The name spread across West Berlin’s borders and even beyond the Iron Curtain: Students in East Berlin and Potsdam carved his name onto school desks, next to that of Udo Lindenberg. It was only when a duplicate (Otto Bofonto 2) showed up that he vanished as quickly as he had first emerged: Otto Bufonto – Berlin’s first graffiti tag.
In Stefan Roloff’s installation, the Schlosszwerg publicly demystifies the motivations and activities of Otto Bufonto.
The installation consists of three parts:
1 – The crime (Otto Bufonto)
2 – The informer (Schlosszwerg in image and sound)
3 – The report (Facebook-series as inkjet prints)
